Position Summary
The Senior National Account Manager (Sr. NAM) position is a key contributor in delivering profitable growth for Energizer. The Sr. NAM plays a critical role in developing customer relationships at every level and additional business by strategically identifying and addressing opportunities of revenue, growth, profit, product distribution, merchandising, pricing and promotion. The Sr. NAM works cross functionally with internal teams to achieve stated business objectives. This position will lead our efforts at one of the largest US Drug retailers. Previous experience with major national accounts is essential. Previous experience with Drug or Food customers is beneficial. The Sr. NAM will communicate regularly with all stakeholders daily, both internal (Energizer) and external (customer). The preferred location of this position is in the greater Midwest United States.
Accountabilities
Develop and execute Annual Business Plans that efficiently achieve customer & Energizer goals/objectives
Communicate industry and competitor developments and recommend adjustments in business plan and tactics to aggressively respond to changes; lead response execution
Manage overall customer P&L, provide updates and recommendations to exceed annual business plans
Develop robust 2-3 year account plans for sustainable growth for customer and Energizer
Develop an ROI mindset that utilizes analytics to develop optimal solutions for sales and margin improvements
Advocate, support and lead change and innovation throughout the organization
Communicate regularly with all stakeholders daily, both internal (Energizer) and external (customer)
Build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
Support an inclusive and diverse workforce and environment
Specific Accountabilities
Develop and implement an Annual Business Plan. Manage monthly reporting and recommendations to over-deliver expected sales and GM plan
Foster strong customer relations with customer buying teams and key customer internal support teams, including Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Shopper Activation, Retail, and Trade Marketing to ensure long term partnership that promotes sales growth
Collaborate with Energizer Customer Supply Chain Team and Customer Planning Team to drive initiatives, regular status meetings and ensure forecast accuracy
Manage all customer contracts, trade fund management and promotion ROI analysis
Leverage an analytically-driven approach to delivering results in all areas of the business
May also perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required
5-10 years of sales experience; expertise in consumer package good environment preferred
Ability to manage trade budget and conduct volume forecasting
Demonstrates an understanding of complexities with interacting with major consumer packaged goods retailers
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively identify issues and recommend/implement solutions
Experience or ability to work effectively in teams with a high level of emotional intelligence
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical skills and capabilities; effective at utilizing Excel (including Pivot Tables & VLOOKUP) for analysis & reporting
Previous negotiations experience
Comfortable using various types of technology
Strong business acumen required (specifically financial understanding and translating data to insight/action)
Commitment to continuous improvement in managing all aspects of the business
Must be comfortable communicating with senior leaders and building relational skills, both internally and externally. Transparency and candidness a must.
Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills and Experience
MBA
Experience with Nielsen, IRI and analytic tools (i.e. Power BI)
Working with Demantra forecast and planning application
Prefer experience with online, digital, and mobile merchandising ad content
Working Relationships & Environment
- This role reports to Director, Sales. Key relationships internally will include Brand Team, Category Management, Trade Marketing, Shopper Activation, Retail, Finance and Supply Chain Team.
Work Environment
- Ability to Travel as needed
