JOB REQUIREMENTS: Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time Human Resources Assistant to join our team. Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position assists and provides support to the Human Resources Department in a variety of activities related to the Recruiting, On-boarding, Payroll, Training, and Administrative functions. This position also provides support related to all Human Resource practices, policies, procedures, and programs. Essential Job Functions Coordination of the annual recognition dinner, holiday reception and other special events. Maintain timekeeping system including annual review of users & access for IT audit. Complete annual paid time off accrual reporting for finance office. Processing retirement fund remittances for TIAA/CREF retirement plan. Maintain employee titles, work locations and job descriptions. Monitor HR email box including replying to inquiries and employment verifications. Administration of the Student Employment Program maintain requests, web postings, entering employees into the payroll and timekeeping system as well as track numbers of student employees. Respond to common employee questions regarding personnel matters and benefit/insurance plans. Maintain and update department website including employee directory information and providing a Website presence for HR related topics. Conduct interviews, orientations and exit interviews. Coordinate and review coach's timesheets to determine any necessary pay adjustments. Maintain HR department employee records, file systems, and purging schedule. Perform annual I-9 audit. Complete OSHA 300 and OSHA 301 logs. Coordinate and process annual performance appraisals, training period reviews, and conflict of interest policy. Maintain online training program. Must be able to work with confidential data and maintain the same.
