JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description Performs engineering work in a variety of settings. Originates complex ideas or projects and contributes to existing projects. Plans, conducts and directs research and/or development work with broad latitude on complex projects. Provides technical inspiration, leadership, and consultation to internal and external customers. Job Responsibilities Initiates, evaluates progress and presents results of projects Provides technical inspiration, leadership, and consultation to professional co-workers Analyzes and develops solutions to engineering problems. Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures and provides advice on issues within the engineering field Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business Performs other duties as assigned Job Skills Requirements Demonstrated high degree of innovation and creativity Ability to proactively originate project ideas to address deficiencies Advanced knowledge within particular field of specialization Ability to transfer customer needs into projects or activities that resolve business goals Advanced understanding and ability to apply knowledge of company and competitor's technology, as well as technology in and outside of our industry, into effective solutions. Excellent written and oral communication skills Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related field Experience Requirements Ten years of experience in an engineering role Recognized as an expert in a particular field of specialization, or have extensive knowledge of all design and development aspects for a particular Briggs & Stratton product or manufacturing process such as internal combustion engines Physical & Environmental Requirements X Briggs & Stratton Corporation is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
