JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description JOB SUMMARY: The Designer - Level 2 is responsible for leading the comprehensive design solution on Federal Government projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Leads discussions with customers to determine project goals, design intent, project schedule and budget. Evaluates customer's needs, analyzes requirements in the Statement of Work (SOW), documents design objectives and determines spatial requirements through programming and space planning. Develops design solutions and specific layouts for customers using AutoCAD and CAP 2020. Initiates and responds to project-related correspondence with customers; communicates with all colleagues in a timely manner. Researches, evaluates, and selects furniture for projects; sources unique F, F & E solutions for projects and generates compelling presentations for customers. Maintains detailed project documentation, including notes from project meetings, key decisions, conversations, approvals, and sign offs. Prepares product specifications utilizing CAP 2020 Worksheet; consults with furniture vendors to determine accurate project discounting; applies manufacturer discounts and customer margins to the final Worksheet. Double checks specifications against furniture plans for accuracy. Provides final furniture layout and specifications to IBVI Operations Manager for furniture installation quoting. Submits furniture pricing margin analyzer for internal review prior to preparing and submitting the furniture proposal to the customer. Submits Excel documents to Order Entry for ordering furniture, reviews manufacturer's furniture acknowledgments for accuracy. Manages project changes and revisions; organizes drawing and specification files in project folders. Ensures drawings and specifications in the project files are the most current. Logs design hours daily providing a detailed description of tasks performed, for the duration of the project. Maintains continual communication with project team regarding the customer and the project. Keeps all parties informed of significant project details and events up until the time of order entry. Reviews furniture installation outcomes with Project Manager; provides punch list specifications & produce as-built drawings. Coordinates electrical and data outlets within systems furniture. Interface with electricians, customer's IT group and outside cabling vendors as required. Performs design double checks for the designers as needed as well as all other duties as assigned.
