Registered Dietitian - $2,000 Sign-On Bonus - GA War Veterans Home (Milledgeville, GA)

Responsible forassuming professional responsibility and accountability for the DietaryServices Department in the provision of nourishing, palatable, well-balanceddiets to meet the daily nutritional and special dietary needs of each residentaccording to their comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care.In collaboration with the Dietary Manager andAdministrator, allocates department resources in an efficient and economicmanner to ensure each resident receives food in amount, type, consistency andfrequency to maintain usual body weight and nutritional values.
1.Interviewspatient/family to obtain pertinent nutrition information needed for thedevelopment of an individualized dietary plan of care for residents.
2.Completesappropriate clinical documentation in the medical record pertaining to thenutritional needs of the patient in accordance with the patient comprehensiveassessment and care plan to comply with regulatory guidelines.
3.Completesand updates dietary assessments as part of the comprehensive residentassessment process.
4.Reviewsregular and therapeutic diet orders to ensure they are served as prescribed andin accordance to the menu.
5.Reviewsand documents patient’s cultural backgrounds that may affect food consumption.
6.Interviewspatient/family member to obtain updated information needed to accommodateindividual needs and preferences and to protect and promote patients/residents’rights.
7.Workscooperatively with members of the interdisciplinary team to develop, implementand evaluate residents’ plan of care.
8.Attendscare plan conferences and communicate resident concerns and responses tointerventions to the interdisciplinary team members and direct care staff.
9.Providesquarterly audits of the clinical record to identify any potential opportunitiesfor improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
10.Identifies ways toaccommodate residents’ choices, preferences and customary routines in regardsto dining and include the approaches in the plan of care and communicate toappropriate staff members.
11.Adjusts menus as deemedappropriate to meet the preferences of the resident population of the facility.
12.Conducts regular mealobservations, record reviews, and resident interviews for adherence toprescribed diet orders and nutrition interventions.
13.Conducts qualityassurance functions that include regular compliance rounds of the DietaryDepartment’s food preparation and storage areas for adherence to regulatoryguidelines.
14.Directs staff inimproving the quality of foods served and the dining experience.
15.In collaboration withthe Dietary Manager, conduct interviews and hire staff that meet thequalifications to perform all essential functions of the job.
16.Gathers and presentssupplemental documentation to avoid potential deficiencies.
17.Collaborates withCorporate Dietitian for timely responses to requests for information andsuggestions to improve quality of Dietary Services.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or relatedfield.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of two (2)years in a professional food service setting and clinical experience in ahealth care setting which includes identification of dietary needs, planningand implementation of dietary programs.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Must have current, unrestricted and active registration bythe Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition andDietetics relative to state of practice.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Master’s Degree with in Nutrition and Dietetics or relatedfield preferred.Previous experience asa Dietitian in long term and/or geriatric care
