Job purpose -

Lead personal care and home care insights to help the commercial organization drive growth through people centric and data-driven insights

Key Responsibilities -

1. Strategic Input

  • Identify insights gaps and opportunity areas for Personal Care/Home Care in RSA and EWA

  • Develop insights plans. This involves - (1) Prioritizing the learning needs and balancing these with available resources (2) Establishing the objectives and questions to be answered, and then (3) Developing appropriate solutions.

  • Work collaboratively with the key commercial teams (Marketing, Customer Development, Media, Division, etc) to gain clarity of the business needs and develop learning plans to address them

  • Ensure that data driven and consumer centric insights are delivered clearly to the business along with incremental and actionable recommendations

2. Research Management

  • Work collaboratively across functional areas but willing to challenge existing assumptions

  • Maintain the relationship with research suppliers, ensuring excellence and agility in service and reasonable cost

  • Find creative solutions to address the business issues

  • Ensure data is turned into insights from both external and internal researches

  • Manage researches end to end from briefing to the report/presentation delivery

Required Qualifications -

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Marketing, Business/social sciences, Consumer Insights or Statistics

  • Minimum 4 years of marketing research experience for either a research based organisation or another FMCG company

  • Must be fully familiar with the fundamentals of the research process and available techniques with in depth knowledge of statistics

  • Working knowledge of primary and secondary information sources within South Africa

  • Experience in digital insights/analytics

  • Experience in agile approaches (not only traditional)

  • Member of SAMRA (preferred, not essential)
