Bay Tech is looking for a patient and caring individual that will be responsible and accountable for the direct care of residents as delegated/directed by the house manager, administrator and/or DCS.Availability for a 3rd shift is a MUST.Job Location: Auburn, MichiganResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Resident Care Responsibilities that Follows universal precautions, Assists with feeding if needed.Hygiene – bathes residents, changes occupied and unoccupied beds, performs diaper changes and perineal skin carePerforms safety checks to include fall precautionsAmbulates, transports, and positions residents with proper body mechanicsPsychosocial interventions – provides diversional activities, comforts, and supports residents/familyPrepares and serves meals as requiredAssist in meeting physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each residentHandle emergency situations appropriately according to procedure manualKnow whereabouts of residents at all times both in the home and in the communityParticipate and carry out activities with Residents as requiredCommunication Responsibilities:Informs Administrator and Resident Family/Designated Representative of any/all pertinent information regarding changes in resident’s condition or care.Effectively relates to and interacts with residents, families, visitors and other staffRecords observations and care interventions on appropriate formsHouse Responsibilities:Communicates with Administrator/DCS regarding supply inventoryMaintains clean and orderly resident environmentRemoves, labels, and reports any malfunctioning equipmentPerforms daily tasks according to schedule e. Food preparation according to facility menusPersonal Responsibilities:Demonstrates ability to give care cooperatively with co-workersKeeps DCS informed when tasks are completed: uses any unstructured time to assist other staff and or for general housekeepingAttends staff meetingsActively participates in quality management and continuing education activities. Updates and maintains knowledge, skills and competencies related to food service preparation and nutrition.Qualifications:Education : High School Graduate or equivalent preferred (but not required)Credentials : CPR & First Aid certifications requiredSkills : Basic literacy skills; good command of English language demonstrated through verbal and written communicationTraining : Shall be competent in the following areas:Reporting requirementsFirst Aid & CPRPersonal care supervision and protectionSafety and fire preventionPrevention and containment of communicable diseasesResident rightsAbility to perform required duties safely without physical restrictionsMust be able to see, hear, walk, speak, read and perform manual tasks without assistanceMust be able to safely & independently lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to safely move or re position residents of any weight or size with assistance of another staff
