The Opportunity | Cost Accountant

As part of the Accounting team, the Cost Accountant will develop, implement and/or maintain cost accounting system.

Location : Middleburgh Heights, OH (greater Cleveland area)

The Challenge:

  • Prepares journal entries; maintains and reconciles ledger accounts.

  • Collects data, allocates costs and prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly or other operating expenses, ensuring that established procedures are followed.

  • Helps in preparation of financial statements and variance reports as requested.

  • Analyzes and prepares reports.

  • Other tasks as defined by Controller.

  • Works with Shared Service Center & Center of Excellence on accounting tasks.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree, with a concentration in Accounting.

  • MBA and CMA is a plus.

  • 2-3 years of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, general ledger accounting, and analysis experience required.

  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles in a standard cost environment and project costing.

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Ability to apply corporate accounting guidelines in addition to GAAP.

  • Experience in ERP system required

  • Excellent critical thinking / analytical skills.

  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office software required especially Excel.

  • Strong communication (written and oral), organization and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to set priorities, work independently, and bring issues to resolution.
