The Front Desk reviews and updates patient demographic information, and collects payments when appropriate. The front desk may serve as the final clerical contact patients have during the visit and utilizes appropriate customer service skills. The front desk may answer multiple phone lines, schedule appointments, assemble, maintain, locate and file medical records.

Ultimately, the position requires a meticulous individual with a positive attitude, excellent patient satisfaction skills, and product and service knowledge. Individual must be an enthusiastic, devoted, team player that is able to thrive in a clinical setting.

In this position, the Front Desk will be equally responsible for validating patients’ billing information, selecting and completing the insurance coverage information for the patient in their quest to access medical care.Their duties include calling private insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid and other various companies, to verify and obtain information concerning insurance benefits accruing to them.


  • Responsible for reviewing patients’ case and insurance coverage information to personalize the call contents to the patient.

  • Review patients’ scanned requisition record and input all information relating to insurance coverage.

  • Take and verify all patients’ demographic information when registering them for the service or program.

  • Identify important patient and demographic information that are missing to avoid claim processing issues with the insurer.

  • Ensure timely processing of benefit information and seek assistance from management when necessary.

  • Work cordially in a team and participate in meetings, sharing ideas and information.

  • Perform verification of Medicare coverage and limits on all Medicare accounts of patients.

  • Prep and prepare charts for next day's clinic.

  • EDUCATION: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

  • WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years’ experience in a medical office/health care setting preferred. Minimum two years’ health care insurance experience preferred.

  • COMPUTER SKILLS: Preferred

  • Must possess a spontaneous desire to assist others and provide excellent customer service while being passionate within your role, along with being both efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be highly dependable and organized.

  • Must have outstanding interpersonal skills.

  • Maintains an impeccably clean, polished, professional image.

  • Must have the ability to learn quickly, retain training, problem solve and think independently.
