Job Summary:

Responsible for the strategic direction and successful implementation of technologies to support the Surveillance function of the firm. This includes aligning the strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services. Day-to-day work includes working with the business stakeholders on model productionalization, from writing the business requirements, identifying the data needs, working on data sourcing mapping, and building the logic for the models. Work also includes collaborating with other business areas and technology partners in providing an integrated enterprise solution (both custom and vendor-based) .

Demonstrates knowledge of industry and technology to support department and firm commercial goals and applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Deals with complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact where multiple options must be considered, analyzed, prioritized and validated.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the creation of the Surveillance Technology Roadmap to ensure they meet the business needs balanced with a pragmatic and integrated approach to the design of technical solutions. Able to weigh alternatives, develop approach and balance conflicting needs.

  • Leads projects to successful completion as defined by predetermined project success criteria including those established by the business, capital expenditure and budget requirements.

  • Influences/determines the prioritization of business unit technology projects, optimal project structure and project administration to ensure strategic business objectives are met and risk is managed.

  • Evaluate potential software solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and enterprise infrastructure and security standards.

  • Lead detailed business requirements sessions eliciting input from stakeholders and subject matter experts.

  • Lead data sourcing activities from various source systems

  • Perform gap analysis and translate findings into business process and/or system requirements

  • Create business requirements documentation and coordinate walk-throughs ensuring requirements acceptance and approval.

  • Leads conceptual architecture design for process and deployment architectural views.

  • Articulate, prioritize and manage requirements through the project lifecycle to ensure business area satisfaction.

  • Designs solutions within defined architectural standards, principles and guidelines.

  • Support the ongoing development of our project methodology and related deliverables.

  • Partners with senior leaders to assess how technologies can best streamline processes and/or add business value.

  • Remains up to date on key technology, business and industry trends.

  • Responsible for budget and annual goals and objectives; holds organization accountable for attaining goals and objectives

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of

  • Financial services industry, specifically around Compliance and Regulatory space

  • Business analytics and process improvement.

  • Data sourcing, analysis, and management.

  • All components of the enterprise technical architecture and process.

  • Agile development

  • Experience with enterprise-wide solutions both custom and vendor based

  • Familiar with control functions (operational risk, surveillance, compliance)

Skill in

  • Advanced Business Analysis tools: Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Software Engineering Methodology (SEM) process, Change Management, Project Management tools (MS Project), project management through risk analysis, resource loading, and critical path analysis, advanced database query language usage, time tracking tools, Use Case / UML, advanced quality assurance (QA) tool usage for test case development, execution, and defect tracking/issue tracking software.

Education/Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of a B.S. in MIS, Computer Science or related degree and ten (10) years of relevant experience including management or leadership experience or combination of education, training and experience.

  • Must have worked in the area of Financial Services

  • Experience with control functions (operational risk, surveillance, compliance).

  • Must have worked in enterprise data and application implementation

  • Experience in Cloud Development highly preferred.

  • Experience with enterprise-wide solutions both custom and vendor based

  • Experience in the following:

  • Project Management.

  • Enterprise Implementation.

  • Leadership.
