Robert Half International Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

Robert Half Finance has a full-time opportunity for Senior Accountant candidates who want to become a critical part of an innovative company. In this Staff Accountant role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This company, based in the Memphis, Tennessee area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. Major responsibilities

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Requirements

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Month end closings experience

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
