ITIL familiarity

End-user deployment (imaging workstations)

The manager, is the only IT person and has some large projects coming up. He needs someone he can rely on and who will not ask so many questions while he’s trying to get his own work done.

From the client (additional must-haves):

Quick learner

Intuitively troubleshoot and solve problems that do not have defined SOPs

Take control to solve tickets – they will be given tickets to answer that are ambiguous in nature

Top notch written and verbal communication/listening skills

Communicate clearly, to be able to present the who, what, where, when, why, and how/able to be patient but firm with end users

Detail oriented

In terms of the hard skills, they need to have the baseline experience with:

Troubleshooting Windows environment (XP, 7, 10, RDP, DNS, DHCP, AD)

Core concepts of OSI model troubleshooting

Job Details:

This position’s responsibilities primarily include:

50% Helpdesk end user incidents and requests

20% Device deployments, device patch management, user provisioning, and maintenance (desktops, laptops, printers, phones, tablets, etc.)

20% Inventory, documentation management

10% Assist with infrastructure and misc. server side projects

What a successful person in this position looks like:

Can demonstrate their troubleshooting and researching skills.

Is a self-learner, meticulous, and methodical.

Has experience with end user deployments, imaging, provisioning, maintenance, inventory/asset management.

Has a working knowledge of ITIL Help Desk principles.

Bonus:

Light scripting experience

Light automation experience
