Memphis Grizzlies Director, Programming & Digitial Content in Memphis, Tennessee
The Memphis Grizzlies and Grind City Media are seeking a creative and qualified individual to lead our digital and social programming and content strategy efforts across multiple brands, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Grind City Media, Memphis Hustle, Grizz Gaming and FedExForum. This person will oversee content planning, scheduling and strategy behind all content created for or licensed by Grind City Media. This person will also lead the day-to-day creative & operational aspects of our social content for all social channels to cultivate fan engagement, growth our platforms, planning, tracking and reporting of posts and campaigns, along with optimizing social media performance.
Oversee and manage the social content team, messaging / brand voices, planning, execution and optimizing across all brands and social platforms, including Weibo to maintain channel integrity and grow audiences and fan engagement.
Lead the distribution and trafficking of all programming for Grind City Media, Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis Hustle, Grizz Gaming and FedExForum content including live and feature video, podcasts, written and more.
Work with Partnership Marketing to brainstorm and develop new branded content & social campaigns / opportunities and maintain current content library to drive revenue and maximized advertising value, providing fan feedback and reporting on performance.
Implement and manage internal social and content distribution calendars along with assisting in the creation and adoption of a cross-department production calendar.
Manage content relationships with key internal distribution partners (digital, social, email, live entertainment and other departments) to drive elite presentation and distribution of branded entertainment and content on these platforms.
Develop useful and consistent measurement and reporting processes for all distributed content and social platforms, including social health, growth and engagements, fan feedback, trends and success of all social initiatives and content franchises.
Work with internal content leads and producers to develop stories, franchises, live & taped features & broadcasts, promotions and more across all channels / mediums, including podcasts, video, written, social and others.
Integrate with key stakeholders internally, including partnerships, ticket sales & service, marketing, digital, promotions, live entertainment and more to create and execute on business objectives for new and existing digital platforms including but not limited to developing partner programs, selling tickets, creating engaging sweepstakes and promotional campaigns and content
Maintain consistent communication practices across all programming, content and distribution channels and best practices established by VP of Production & Broadcast.
Work with VP of Marketing and advertising team to develop digital data acquisition strategies across all social platforms and content franchises.
Lead process in developing and executing on paid support strategies for sponsored and non-sponsored campaigns, including audience analysis, the creation of look-alike audience models, retargeting initiatives, etc.
Identify opportunities for emerging digital and social platforms, trends and potential new vendor relationships that can add value to social presence.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast, Communications, Journalism, Photography or related and appropriate majors preferred.
Must have at least 5-7 years’ experience working in a digital media role with a brand.
Must have at least 5 years of experience leading a team.
Must possess superior written and verbal skills, editorial judgment and knowledge of digital culture.
Experience with social media aggregation platforms and analytics tracking software.
Thorough understanding (in a business capacity) of social platforms including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, and Snapchat.
Experience with Salesforce social studio, Datorama, Mention and other social analytics platforms preferred
Detail-oriented and strong organization and project management skill.
Strong knowledge of and passion for social media and NBA basketball.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Actively follow new technology trends and apply to Grizzlies digital strategy where appropriate.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards in all work.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and basic video/audio editing, Premiere and After Effects preferred.
Fluency in NBA Basketball and fan culture essential.
Must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings (nights and weekends as required).
