JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Brandywine, located in Media, PA, is seeking a Digital Media Specialist (Marketing Communications Specialist 3) for its Strategic Communications Department. The Digital Media Specialist will work with faculty, staff, students, and vendors to complete projects and should have an appreciation for working with diverse audiences.

The primary responsibilities for this position include: managing, creating and updating web content and serving as the campus’ webmaster; monitoring and reporting analytics from digital advertising, the campus website, newsletters and other platforms; creating and coordinating the production of marketing and/or promotional communications that may include print, electronic newsletters and advertisements, social media, new/emerging media, and other collateral that is in accordance with the campus’ approved strategic marketing plan and objectives; assisting in the planning of marketing and/or communications strategy by identifying communications needs based on relevant research; supporting the research and analysis of marketing strategy. The position may also assist with content creation for social media, writing news stories, supporting special events, photography, and video production.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

Previous experience with website content management software (such as Drupal), Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing platforms (MailChimp or Constant Contact), Google Analytics and Microsoft Office 365 is preferred. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects, produce accurate work and meet deadlines. This position requires a high level of self-direction, strong attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills, and the ability and willingness to learn new software programs. Occasional evening and weekend hours are also required.
