The Corporate Banking Commercial Loan Operations Syndication Mgr. leads a team of specialists that analyze and execute a wide range of commercial lending operational processes, including multi-million dollar transactions with aggressive timeframes. Oversees and enforces risk mitigation controls, maintaining a high level of data stewardship, adhering to Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, while ensuring exceptional customer service to commercial and small business clients.Is responsible for administering and servicing syndicated and participated loan activity, and has complete responsibility of large Syndicated facilities handling everything regarding advances, payments, fee computations and overall maintenance of the loans owned by the colleagues and team.

Responsibilities

  • On Syndications for CFG - responsibilities include managing member bank and their share of fees, advances, payments and other loan information.

  • Servicing all facilities in relation to syndications and participations, including but not limited to the commitments, notes, collateral and guarantors.

  • Verifying and funding all incoming funding requests from agent banks in a timely manner.

  • Understands all documentation pertaining to any participation and syndication, including the most complex Loan and Credit agreements. Fair knowledge of agency agreements and syndication marketplace is essential for this position.

  • Receives and accounts for all fees, charges and interest as and when due. Reconciles all revenue items and when necessary work with agent bank in reconciliation of transactions. Distributes fees, charges & income to participants in a timely manner. Ensures regulatory compliance on all aspects of loan servicing.

  • Resolves customer/agent bank inquiries/disputes by troubleshooting and researching problems.

  • Researches and resolves all accounting inquiries including but not limited to interest adjustments, breakage costs, fees on unutilized commitments and repricing options.

  • Assists with responding to various audits performed in the unit.

  • Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).

  • Leads continuous improvement and data quality activities as well as change initiatives to align function with corporate and departmental goals. Ensures all project deliverables.Communicates progress to project stakeholders and describe cost, benefits and impact of activities.

  • Regularly engages with commercial loan customers or their representatives.

  • Prioritizes work in a time-sensitive manner. Resolves highly complex customer issues with minimal guidance, escalating as appropriate.

  • Models behaviors that exemplify superior customer service for junior associates less experienced colleagues.

  • Develops activities that ensure that key performance indicators and service levels are met.

  • Initiates corrective action to remediate inaccuracies or exceptions with customer or bank impact.

  • Qualifications

Basic qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing Syndicated loans.

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in handling Syndicated transactions.

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ managing teams, preferably in a finance operation capacity

  • Minimum 5 years' experience using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.

  • Education:

Bachelor Degree preferred
