Director, Human Resources Consulting - Risk

The Risk Management department is a horizontal organization that supports all of Capital One. Being on this team provides exposure to the various lines of businesses like US Card, Auto Finance and Commercial Bank plus our Regulatory agencies. It is also important work as Risk Management is a competitive advantage for the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic HR consulting to our Operational & Compliance Risk team, led by an EVP with 30+ executives and over 1800 associates across the country

  • Lead a team of 3 HR Consultants

  • Sit on client’s leadership team and provide guidance across the Risk business imperatives

  • Manage core HR processes (i.e., performance & talent management, all associate survey, recruiting, compensation) for business unit

  • Manage executive recruiting searches for client and help to onboard new leaders

  • Architect and deliver a highly effective people strategy

  • Identify and help to lead transformational change focusing on impact at all levels

  • Provide just in time and targeted coaching across the executive group

  • Provide analysis and drive recommendations for diversity & inclusion and people leadership agenda

  • Partner with associate relations specialists on escalated issues, exit interviews, etc.

  • Participate in cross-functional business initiatives/projects, lending expertise on people-related matters

  • Coordinate HR work streams on key business projects (integrations, succession planning, audits, redeployments, etc.)

  • Translate industry best practices into readily consumable programs and products aligned to business needs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 7 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Talent Management Leader

  • At least 5 years of client facing experience or at least 2 years of consulting experience, or a combination of the two

  • At least 5 years of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management

  • Professional Human Resources Certification or Senior Professional Human Resources certification or Coaching certification

  • At least 7 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist

  • At least 7 years of client facing experience or at least 5 years of consulting experience, or a combination of the two

  • At least 7 years of experience in project management
