Trinity Health Distribution Services Tech III in Maywood, Illinois

Under the supervision of the Department Management Team, the Distribution Services Tech III will replenish all hospital inventories and distribution of supplies and equipment to the various departments and buildings in the Medical Center and as needed may be required to complete the duties of a DST I or DST II. The Tech III is responsible to distribute, collect, transport, repair, and clean patient use equipment. The Tech is also responsible to deliver clean supplies and linen in support of patient care as well as all other departments throughout the Medical Center and pick up soiled linen as needed.

High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education

Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Responsible for replenishing supplies in an automated supply cabinet accurately. Responsible for medical center gas cylinder supply and control. Inventories, stocks, delivers, and reorders portable gas cylinders for all patient care units and clinical departments throughout the medical center, inclusive of outpatient facilities. Acts as the coordinator of the DST I & II personel when the manager is absent.

Reports work flow impedents, equipment malfunctions or requests for service that are abnormal

Completes work from previous shift to accomodate departmental schedule and assists in maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Assists in conducting employee orientations and job related training and in-services

Completes usage, stock out and productivity analysis reports using various computer software programs to include Excel and other database and word processing programs

Actively participates in overall Departmental Quality Improvement Programs and completes appropriate performance or quality assurance checks as directed by the Manager or Assistant Manager

Uses hand held device for conducting inventories and for scanning of equipment for tracking purposes.

The DST III on the shift that is responsible for the Omni cell restocks must be able to operate an electric walk behind pallet truck to coordinate the deliveries.

Cleans equipment such as but not limited to IV poles, IV pumps, Epidural pumps, SCD pumps, Hypothermia machines, PCA pumps with low level disinfectants.
