Sutter Health IS Technical Services Engineering Supervisor - Data Center Network in Mather, California
Leads a team charged with solutions development, design, implementation, and third-level support for Enterprise technical infrastructure. Participates in full life cycle management of technical infrastructure. Coordinates continuing education and certification plan for staff, manages resources and tasks associated with Enterprise infrastructure projects.
Have the ability to understand and interpret complex business and IT requirements, design an appropriate solution and implement the network. End to end project delivery.
Have sufficient knowledge of IT Operations understanding policy, processes, procedures and systems deployed.
Practical experience in Cisco Routing and Switching at CCNA/CCNP Level and/or Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) deployment.
Have excellent knowledge of the project lifecycle.
Manage solution quote and procurement process for project and lifecycle network deliverables.
Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to influence peer group good negotiation skills.
Proven ability to prioritize competing demands for time and resources.
Have the ability to understand and interpret complex business and IT requirements and assess future needs.
Experience managing large network project implementations.
Act as the primary contact between the project and the virtual engineering teams (both internal and external).
Demonstrated ability to hire, train and develop high functioning teams.
Develop and manage communication channels which facilitate open communication and discussion between stakeholders for multiple workstreams/projects.
Provide direction, support and act as a first point of contact for the Data Center Engineering team.
Work collaboratively with other department areas and regions to ensure cross domain work is completed in an efficient manner.
Ensures that the team's decisions are made with consideration of the short and long-term impact on key stakeholders.
Will maintain awareness of current practices and developments within own area(s) of expertise to ensure adherence.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience successfully managing IT project deliverables to short timescales in a project environment and escalating any issues to the stakeholders.
4+ years of experience working effectively with internal and external suppliers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and in line with the budget.
4+ years of experience of leading, developing and motivating teams (engineers, project managers, transition managers, etc.) within an IT project environment.
Broad understanding of Network technologies including SDN, ACI, VXLAN, routing and switching, firewalls and load balancing.
Experience in information systems engineering, preferably in a healthcare setting, as typically acquired in 3 to 6 years.
Supervisory experience in a technical setting or equivalent desired.
Working in a 24x7 mission critical environment.
Working within quality development teams desired.
Desired experience working with Remedy and Microsoft Project.
Desired familiarity with ITIL practices.
Use diagnostic software and operate test equipment.
Strong technical/hardware/software troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Evaluate workload, available resources and adjust schedules and priorities as required.
