Sutter Health Business Intelligence Architect 3 in Mather, California

Position Overview:

The business intelligence architect (BI Architect) is a top-level business intelligence analyst/developer who develops the framework for organizing data and technology components used to build enterprise systems for both reporting and the socialization of analytics results, with the specific purpose of maximizing the potential of the organization’s data assets.

The BI Architect should have extensive knowledge of database systems, languages, structures and best practices, as well as extensive knowledge of both BI, ETL, and data modeling tools and their strengths and weaknesses in the context of business needs. Especially with an area of focus on reporting on Epic EHR clinical data as well as EPIC Cogito suite of tools, particularly the Clarity database.

The BI Architect is responsible for leading the team and business stakeholders through the development of analytic solutions that promote clarity and efficiency in using data to drive decision-making, including documentation, testing, and customer relationship management.

The BI Architect should possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrate strong presentation and collaboration skills, and the ability to communicate all aspects of the process with peers as well as end users.

Seeking an individual with in-depth experience and expertise in supporting the design and tactical execution of analytic products, including managing of both onshore and offshore resources for data and BI solution development, especially focusing on EPIC EHR and Cogito reporting with a Tableau front end. The ideal candidate will be passionate about processes, quality assurance, and efficiency, while also being a good collaborator and leader with peers and exemplifying the Sutter values.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business, or management information systems Or equivalent education/experience

Experience/Skills

  • 2+ years of experience working with complex data systems and structures

  • 3+ years of experience with Epic and Cogito architecture and development or equivalent tool

  • 5+ years of experience developing reports and dashboards in support of business needs

  • Advanced SQL coding skills along with SSIS and SSRS expertise
