They are not intended to cover each aspect of the position as the scope and duties may change or be temporarily altered based on the current business needs of the Company. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by the reporting authority.Vehicle & Equipment Operation:* Operate vehicles and equipment, including line truck and underground equipment* Efficiently load and unload transformers, poles, and other materials, as required* Set poles, transformers, switch gear, and regulators* Assist all personnel byassembling materials, digging holes, framing poles, hooking up underground transformers, assembling potheads, splicing, installing anchors and guys, and performing all other ground work, as required* Aid in construction and maintenance of the distribution system to ensure a safe and effective operation* Perform switching and operating of apparatus with approved insulated hot sticks while under the direct supervision of a first class lineman or foreman as requiredOther Operations Duties:* Visually check lines, poles, insulators, transformers, service entrances, rights-of-way, etc. for damages or unsafe conditions and report same to immediate supervisor* Cut right-of-way and perform landscaping, concrete, and asphalt repairs, as required* Effectively install conduits and encased concrete duct systems* Inspect, service, and maintain assigned vehicles and equipment daily* Advise immediate supervisor of maintenance needs on tools, vehicles, and other equipment* Assist in handling emergencies and outages, as directedMinimum Qualifications:* High School Diploma or equivalent* Minimum of six (6) months of work experience as an entry lineman, equipment operator or equivalent experience* Possess valid Class A Commercial Georgia driver's license and relevant endorsementsRequired Skills:* Ability to gain knowledge on operation, use, care, and maintenance of power digging and pole setting equipment and hydraulically operated take-off and other types of heavy trucks and equipment* Ability to rapidly acquire basic knowledge of corporate procedures, first aid, and safety rules and regulations* Ability to develop thorough knowledge and skill within each of the specified steps of equipment operator progression* Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of underground utility installation of direct bury and directional boring equipment* Ability to gain knowledge of overhead distribution construction including the various types of crane operations* Ability to gain knowledge of Georgia Utility Facility Protection Act (GUFPA) regulations* Obtain valid Georgia Flagging
