For our department global Engineering in Marburg we are currently looking for a:
Associate Director Process Engineering Material Science (m/f/d) – R-114698
The Associate Director, Process Engineering Material Science is a subject matter expert for existing technical material science for direct and indirect product contact and is a key team member in the evaluation of change to materials. The Associate Director, will lead innovation & review of potential materials to support improvements or new product pursuits.
What you can expect:
Lead product/process innovation initiatives by providing global material science expertise for direct and indirect product contact such as equipment, additivies, etc.
Supports cleaning and waste solvent treatment technology owner with material science expertise
Supports medical device introduction from a material science perspective
Responsible to develop and implement global material standardization and implement new or different materials that address potential considerations of sustainability, accessibility, cost and/or safety.
Manages vendor relationships, assesses, from Process Engineering perspective, vendor material changes and identifies potential improvements to relay to the vendor partner.
In partnership with Quality will work to qualify new product, both direct and indirect, contact materials.
Manages the E&L (extractables & leachables) process in partnership with Quality. Has deep expertise/knowledge of direct/indirect product contact material influencing plasma proteins and product characteristics
Develops and delivers strategies for material science innovation with the introduction of new material inputs, equipment, processes or sequencing
What you bring:
Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or other related technical field of study. Advanced degree preferable
10 years or more working in Pharmaceutical industry
5 years or more working experience with vendor relationship management
Significant exposure to GMP environment
Demonstrated experience in process improvement development & execution
Significant experience material science and engineering in the pharmaceutical industry with preferred plasma protein science background
Strong communication and conflict management skills to influence project professionals and stakeholders, including non‐specialists, at all levels in the organization
Demonstrated experience in managing, organizing, developing and deploying best practice frameworks, processes, tools and templates in an Operations context, in alignment with Enterprise standards
5 years or more experience working within a global matrix organization, and ability to work across a range of countries and cultures.
Involvement in cross-functional, multicultural and international teams
Fluent English and German skills; both written and spoken
