These exciting new systems utilize electronics-based hardware, sensors, and wireless technologies. In this position you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:Designing and optimizing system level and circuit board hardware design with digital, analog, and mixed signals including optical systems, LED and other illumination techniques, image capture technology, and wireless communications.Acting as a liaison to outsource manufacturing partners to support life cycle management, product updates, line extensions, change management, and qualification of new designsSupporting new product development and next generation designsWorking with outside certification agencies for product safety (UL) and EMC/CE/FCC certificationHelping customer support teams trouble shoot customer complaints and feedbackCommunicating progress and issues to key stakeholders to ensure alignment, prioritization and support on project plans, timelines, and deliverablesWorking alongside a combination of internal, third-party, and offshore development teamsYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND Three (3) years of experience in product engineering support of electronics-based products in a private, public, government or military environmentORHigh School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND six (6) years or experience in product engineering support of electronics-based products in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Familiar with injection molded plastic designExperience with vendor managementExperience with Six Sigma tools/processAdvanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical engineering with electrical experience from an accredited institutionTravel: May include up to 10% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially.
