The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for this position will be responsible for providing quality leadership and support for the 3M Food Safety software and integrated hardware for both commercialized product and new products in development. This position will report to the Food Safety Quality Manager.
As an Advanced Software Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Reviewing and advising team on verification plans and data to ensure the product has been adequately tested including unit, functional and system verification.
Reviewing and advising team on requirements, design specifications, and design documents to ensure that they are comprehensive and actionable.
Providing technical guidance and training to internal and external customers regarding software applications.
Responding to and document issues, change requests and bugs in approved issue tracking tool.
Working with team to optimize the 3M Food Safety software quality processes and tools.
Representing the Food Safety Department in 3M Corporate initiatives, design and technology projects.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
One (1) year experience in testing, troubleshooting and supporting software applications containing an interface with hardware within a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution
Five (5) years software application testing including white box, black box, automated, unit, functional and systems testing
Understanding of Windows 7,8/8.1 and 10, servers (Windows 2008 & 2012), networking and software components to include Internet Information Service manager (IIS), SQL Database Server, Mobile Technologies and NET Framework
Waterfall/Agile software development process experience
Experience with AzureDevops
Hands-on experience on testing of web application, desk top app, Android OS that integrated with hardware
Two (2) years of Lean Six Sigma experience
Significant experience in successfully leading projects
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and manage priorities accordingly
Demonstrated experience to analyze problems, diagnose root cause, and apply corrective actions
Familiarity with ISO quality requirements and documentation
Demonstrated organization and communication skills, written and oral
Ability to multi-task and detail oriented
Strong collaboration skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise, and well thought-out technical documentation
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
