Come join our Malvern, PA Central Purchasing Organization as a Senior Purchasing Analyst! As an Analyst, you will work as part of a dynamic team, and manage the data collection, data analysis, reporting activities, as well as some aspects of category management for CertainTeed. This position will develop data collection strategies by spend category and compile business critical information into a usable, presentable format utilizing the ERP system and other data reporting systems. Most importantly, the analyst will draw inferences from the analysis to aid the Purchasing team in the development of a category management strategy and purchasing compliance
The Senior Purchasing Analyst requires the ability to think and act independently to develop and deploy appropriate data collection tools to gather the appropriate information from the business to support the sourcing and management activities for a variety of different commodity and service categories. The analyst must be highly skilled technically (proficiencies in Microsoft Access, Excel, database software and programming, as well as expertise in enterprise-wide systems such as SAP). Technical skills must be coupled with general business acumen in order for the analyst to understand the meanings of the data and present it accordingly to drive the strategy of a sourcing project or a category management initiative. Reporting developed and maintained by the analyst will be communicated to the highest level of business. The analyst will need to manage deadlines and timelines while managing multiple priorities to keep projects and the team on track.
Responsibilities:Purchasing Analysis, Support and Reporting
Launching of tenders for materials, including working with technical teams to setup specifications, site visits to CertainTeed manufacturing sites to understand where raw materials are being used in the process, negotiation with suppliers with support from Category Management teams or business unit leaders.
Support sourcing initiatives for assigned categories including RFP / bid development, analysis and presentation of results with business unit leaders and functional category managers.
Sourcing includes research of potential suppliers, communications and strategy development regarding fit for purpose and analytics on selection of suppliers working in association with the category manager.
Develop and process requests for proposal using Saint-Gobain eTools and associated systems; track savings and manage projects using defined processes by department.
Category management leadership as required and for select business unit segments (as assigned).
Key owner in the preparation of the annual budget and re-forecasts for all raw materials, including spend analysis by category, plant, and SKU.
Take ownership of Cost of Factors (COF) reporting including analysis and explanation of significant price or volume changes.
Lead support activities for the purchasing team associated with the use of the Business Intelligence reporting tools.
Purchasing Reporting – Month End
Take ownership for the development and maintenance of monthly KPI reports for each procurement category; collect and manage data from external (suppliers) sources as well as internal (Purchasing Managers, Buyers, ERP System) resources. Maintain relevant market information / indices for raw materials.
Develop, maintain and manage specific Purchasing month-end reporting pack, including but not limited to purchasing KPI’s, Cost Savings, Safety etc.
Manage the monthly raw materials, packaging, and resale inventory reporting for all plants.
Ownership of reporting and managing Digital and Responsible Purchasing initiatives (ProSource RFX, eAuction, Supplier Charter, Corporate Social Responsibility) for assigned Business Unit in coordination with Global Responsible Purchasing group in Paris and Malvern headquarters.
Maintain the Purchasing Policies and Procedures including updating as required and communicating to appropriate pillars within the organization in order to adhere with the company’s Internal Control Reference Framework (ICRF).
Presentation preparations for budgets, long range plans, steering committees, etc.
Support Purchasing leadership on various ad hoc analysis as needed.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3+ years’ professional experience in supply chain, purchasing, or finance
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and proactively engage cross functional constituents.
SAP or large ERP Systems experiemce. Advanced Excel skills required.
High Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Very high attention to detail, accuracy of work and excellent communication skills.
Experience with a multi plant manufacturing/distribution environment.
Desire to grow in Purchasing.
Completion of or current enrollment in Purchasing or a Supply Chain Designation Program (SCMP, CITT etc.).
Knowledge of SAP purchasing.
