Financial Analyst

job summary:

Our client, a fast growing medical device organization is seeking a financial analyst to join their growing finance team. The Financial Analyst is reporting directly to the Senior Director of Financial Analysis, the Financial analyst will assist and provide analytical and decision support to senior financial and executive operational management by developing, interpreting, and implementing financial concepts for financial planning, analysis and control. This will be a highly visible role, and the successful candidate will provide analytical support for major business decisions.

responsibilities:

  • Assist in annual budget and periodic forecasting for organization, including analyzing financial status by comparing plans and forecasts with actual results.

  • Prepare monthly actual and forecast reporting for all business units and operations

  • Build financial models to communicate and identify pricing opportunities to executive and upper management.

  • Review P&L statements and analyze customer and operator efficiencies and areas of improvement.

  • Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.

  • Assist in sales and revenue metric analysis initiatives by enhancing existing variance and trend analysis of data from various sources and recommending more efficient processes to management.

  • Assist in analytical assessments of potential opportunities by financial modelling, scenario analysis and recommendation of possible courses of action.

qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to teach financial concepts in an easy to understand manner to non-finance personnel

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working in finance capacity with increasing responsibilities

  • Some understanding of Budgeting processes

  • Ability to interpret data and provide strategic analysis to highest levels of management
