Christie Clinic RNs nurture working relationships with providers, nurses and other team members to care for our patients and their families. In this position, you will administer care to acute and non-acute patients as well as educating patients on disease prevention and wellness. We are currently seeking a full-time registered nurse in our Vein and Vascular department at our Main Clinic. Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.This position will perform phone triage, address post-op concerns and provide pre-op education. Requires demonstrated clinical and surgical skills to provide surgical care to the patient by assessing, planning and implementing nursing care before, during and after surgery. Must possess experience and knowledge to provide effective vein and vascular education to patient/family, team members and other health care professionals.Responsibilities:Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient. Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider. Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.Stock and maintain equipment, medications and crash carts.Perform lab work prior to procedures, as needed.Assist provider in pre-operative, operative and post operative procedures.Monitor recovering and/or sedated patients. Remove sutures and reapply bandages, dressings, etc., as needed.Start IV's and administer IV medications.Perform and read EKG's.Preoperative Chart Review including lab work.Late- Stay Schedule (flexible hours to cover office based labs prep/recovery area).Perform related work as required.Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited school of nursingEvidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU'sProfessional nursing experienceACLS CertificationModerate Sedation Certification
