Covance QC (Quality Check) Reviewer (Level I) in Madison, Wisconsin

We have a great opportunity for a QC Reviewer (Level I) in our Immunology and Immunotoxicology (I&I) Group in Madison, WI. In this role, you will review data for accuracy and compliance to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain and expand knowledge of regulatory requirements, protocol requirements, SOP requirements, and client requirements. And finally, help maintain discrepancy tracking data in support of departmental improvement efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learns to review data to assure quality standards are met and to verify compliance to applicable SOP and regulatory requirements.

  • Seeks to expand knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g. GLPs), SOP requirements, and other guidance documents. Applies existing knowledge to data review tasks.

  • Learns to collect discrepancy tracking data for items reviewed.

  • Learns to utilize I&I systems for review of electronic data.

  • Has the ability to understand and interpret complex protocols.

  • Learns to identify discrepancy trends and shares results with management.

  • Responds to QA inspection report findings related to QC review of data.

  • Assess and document clinical observations, body weight data, food consumption data, environmental data, and other data on the appropriate data collection system (or by hand when necessary).

  • Learns to recognize deviations from expected results and communicates information to appropriate personnel.

  • Works with a mentor while working with others to resolve discrepancies before they become deviations.

  • Helps in lab as to maintain current skills, gaining more experience and keeping up with SOP changes and be willing to get cross training experience as needed.



  • Bachelor degree in related Biological or Life Sciences field preferred


  • Experience may be substituted for education requirements.

  • Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information.

  • Previous experience in a lab setting recommended

  • Experience working with large data sets in excel and/or graphpad is a plus
