The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine is seeking a physician-scientist Assistant or Associate Professor to develop an independent, extramurally funded research program focused on mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and development of innovative cardiovascular therapeutics.
The School of Medicine and Public Health has a deep and profound commitment to diversity both as an end in itself but, also as a valuable means for eliminating health disparities. 75% of time will be protected for research efforts to establish an independent, extramurally funded research program focused on basic mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases. Recruitment will include start-up funding and research support individualized to the candidate.
25% of time will be dedicated to patient care in ambulatory and inpatient cardiovascular services UW Hospital and UW Health clinics.
The candidate will engage in related scholarly activities including mentoring fellows, graduate students, residents, and medical students.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Must be an acknowledged academic physician with demonstrated excellence in research, education and clinical care. Must possess a record of scholarly achievements, outstanding leadership skills, professionalism and an ability to develop interdisciplinary, collaborative programs.
Associate/Full Professor must meet criteria for rank per UW-Madison guidelines.
License or Certificate:
Eligible for Wisconsin medical license.
BC/BE Cardiovascular Medicine
