Job Description

The 10th Court Service Unit is seeking a qualified candidate who will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to probation officers and supervisors in the Lunenburg and Charlotte County offices.

Duties may include: greeting the public, agency personnel and professionals, maintaining case and office files, entering and retrieving data from case management system, typing correspondence and various reports, ordering supplies for the office, serving as a receptionist and relaying messages to staff, intake screening, setting appointments, and other administrative duties as needed.

This position may at times have to perform as a back-up to Office Service Specialist in the other branch offices located within the 10th Judicial District.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

Knowledge of office practices and procedures; experience using multi-line telephone; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the public and co-workers; knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling; experience composing correspondence and/or reports required. Knowledge and skills in the use of computers and other office equipment; experience with Microsoft Office programs; data entry experience; experience with creating and maintaining paper and/or electronic files.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent, as well as related experience in an administrative support position in a criminal justice setting, experience scheduling appointments is desired.
