JBS USA PURCHASING ASSISTANT in Lufkin, Texas

The primary responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant are turning purchase orders from released requisitions, assuring vendors confirm pricing and delivery dates on purchase orders, interaction with vendors and assisting the purchasing manager with their duties.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of the purchase order cycle to include:

  • Checking requisitions for accurate information and internal releases before turning purchase orders.

  • Acquiring pricing and delivery date confirmation from vendors.

  • Contacting vendors when deliveries are late or incomplete. Will require coordination with Central Receiving.

  • Assisting vendors with any questions or problems they may have.

  • Working with accounting to insure that purchase orders have been received and invoices posted.

  • Working with accounts payable to check payment status/problems for vendor invoices.

  • All other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

Job requires neatness and organization with a grasp for detail and accuracy in record keeping; Individuals must have strong work ethic, be dependable, and be able to work independently.

  • Strong sense of urgency to complete job responsibilities daily.

  • Verifying incoming shipments of materials when asked.

  • Assisting vendors with questions concerning invoice payments/discrepancies.

  • Very strong computer skills, SAP experience preferred, Accounts Payable knowledge helpful, Microsoft Word and Excel required
