Wellforce MIH Paramedic in Lowell, Massachusetts
The Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Paramedic performs services according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objective of the department and hospital. She/he reports to the Director of Advance Life Support, the MIH Program Medical Director and EMS Medical Director. The MIH Paramedic works cooperatively within the department, with physicians and referring providers to create a system of quality health care.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Compliance with performance improvement clinical benchmarks
Avoids substantiated complaints regarding interpersonal conduct
Completes records and billing documentation
Avoids hazards, uses safety equipment; is safe.
Follows clinical protocols, plans and medical orders correctly
Maintains effective scene management/leadership; follows ICS
Follows operational flow and procedures efficiently and effectively to maximize utilization.
Demonstrates effective and positive teamwork and initiative during EMS operations, within the department and the EMS community
Works collaboratively and in a professional manner with all physicians, referring providers, allied health and public safety personnel.
Respond to patient’s urgent care needs and provide assessment, treatments and interface with appropriate clinicians in the patient’s home with the goal of avoiding unnecessary hospitalization.
Assist in emergency department.
Participate in the discharge planning process of selected patients on inpatient units and in emergency department.
Performs home visits (scheduled, unscheduled, urgent), assessments and treatments according to MIH protocols and procedures.
Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
National Paramedic Certificate
ACLS, BLS, and PALS Certified
3-5 years of experience required
Preferred: Progressive responsibility in Mobile Integrated Health Program or at-home care setting
