The Variable Data Specialist is responsible for programming, imposing, and splitting variable print/publishing projects for XMPie. Responsible for data sortation and preparation on non-presorted customer data, as well as a variety of graphic art and print production tasks.
Program variable print/publishing jobs using InDesign and XMPie.
Code new layouts for XMPie usage and upload to XMPie software instance for use on an Atria-branded storefront.
Automate the mailing sortation process and drive improvement in quality processes and efficiency.
Troubleshoot XMPie code errors.
Manage all artwork on the XMPie storefront and Atria brand storefront.
Trouble shoot XMPie software issues; collaborate with Software development to solve.
Assist with changes to XMPie orders from community requests.
Collaborate with IT and print shop to plan, problem solve and trouble shoot new and existing projects.
Scrub data in Microsoft Excel, in preparation for XMPie integration.
Create finished imposed files for print.
Create quality verification sheets for press check approval process.
Create mock-ups to show variable positioning.
Develop and document new processes to increase efficiency.
Maintain and improve file management, organization process and procedures.
Package and pre-flight files for release to printers or media partners.
May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Three (3) or more years of similar experience.
Proficiency with variable set programming, data print and composition software such as XMPie.
Experience in Direct Mail postal sortation software (Adobe creative suite; XMPie).
Experience with direct mail/printing industry.
Working knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, XMPie, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of CSV file format properties.
Must be able to follow supplied imaging and data mapping instructions.
Must be able to develop unique solutions to technical problems and offer additional expertise as needed.
