Family Allergy & Asthma Compliance Manager in Louisville, Kentucky

Family Allergy & Asthma is is growing and is looking for Compliance Manager to join our Family!

We have a full-time Compliance Manager position available based out of our Louisville, KY office. The typical schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, with overtime, as needed.

**Travel may be required to other locations throughout the region and country, as needed.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and implements programs, policies, and practices to ensure that all departments are in compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, OSHA, USP, and all other related Compliance or Regulatory Programs.

  • Ensures that the practice maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements through audits and assessments.

  • Research laws and regulations that might affect the practice's policies and procedures, and updates policies and procedures, as required.

  • Tracking, evaluating, communicating and implementing internal privacy and compliance auditing.

  • Bloodborne Pathogen training

  • Hazard Communications

  • Yearly reporting for injuries in the workplace

  • Needlestick protocols including periodic review of engineering safety by non-managerial staff

  • Tracking and documenting Hep B immunizations and TB skin tests

  • Maintaining safety data sheets for product or chemical exposures

  • Hazardous waste management, and proper disposal of PPE, sharps, etc.

  • Spill contingency plans and spill kits

  • Obtaining clarification, and guidance, from CMS/HHS/OIG/OCR to enable efficient and cost-effective implementation of privacy and compliance requirements.

  • Investigation, analysis, and reporting of any potential HIPAA violations and/or security breaches as well as the yearly required insurance attestation.

  • Responsible for the research and presentation of scope of licensure for LPNs, RNs, & MAs etc. in each state.

  • Serve as the chairperson for the company's Compliance Committee.

  • Maintain and follow HIPAA policies and procedures.

  • Other relevant duties, as assigned, by the Manager/Director.

Abilities, Knowledge and Skills

Effective communication skills to include:

  • Ability to fluently speak and read English.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, handbooks, policies, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with all levels of staff.

Education, Prior Work Experience, Special Skill and Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, in a related field, and/or at least 5 years of related experience, highly preferred.

  • Ability to rely on extensive experience, and judgment, to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Ability to performs a variety of tasks.

  • Must be able to perform in a highly self-directed position.

  • High school diploma or GED, required.

  • Prior medical office experience, preferred.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Must be a quick learner, organized, and team oriented.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid Driver's License required.

  • Acceptable results on Office of Inspector General, State Medicaid Exclusions, Abuse Registry Checks, Background Screenings, Drug Screen, and Sanction Checks.

  • Ability to travel to satellite offices, as needed.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
