Mitie has an opportunity for a Security Relief Officer to join the Total Security Management Team; the Security Officer will be based in at one of our prestigious corporate, Bank of England sites. This is a great opportunity join at an exciting time in a secure environment. £11.06 per hour. 1 hour unpaid lunch *average of 30 hours per week* Main Duties Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) The role is to provide exceptional Customer Service, responsible for supporting and liaising with the client on all of the sites operations 24hrs per day 7 days per week. To provide clear and timely communication to the site Manager's on key issues that affect the business operation and customer service delivery. Ensure that the interests of Customers and visitors are always fully protected and conduct yourself accordingly, as their representative. To deliver exceptional ‘Customer Service’. * Understanding of the emergency procedures for the building. * Ensure all instructions, both written and verbal are adhered to. * Provide security escort to all areas of the building as and when required * Carry a radio at all times whilst on duty. * Have read and understood the assignment instructions. * Report any issues to the supervisor or duty manager. * Always conduct yourself in a professional manner. * Always have your SIA license with you and displayed. * Control all aspects of access and egress to the building. * Complete internal and external patrols, specifically reporting all faults and blocked fire exists as a priority. * Assist in all types of evacuations and events that may occur at the client site. * Respond to emergencies. * Report security or safety issues to the site Supervisor. * Deal with conflict in an appropriate manner if required. * Write up incidents to the standard expected by Management. * Carry out ID checks. * Carry out searches of areas and persons in accordance with assignment instructions. * Be vigilant to the Health and Safety risks, carrying out regular checks. * Follow all reasonable requests from the Supervisor or Senior Management * To be on post, on time as dictated by duty rota or as instructed by Supervisor or above * Contribute to ways of improving service delivery to our clients and customers by not accepting the ‘norm’.. * Excellent communication skills to all levels – verbally, written, phone and by security radio’s. * Being able manage own workload and escalate where required * Can work effectively as part of a team or can work on own initiative * Extensive experience working in the corporate environment within the banking sector * Excellent interpersonal skills, to liaise with security officers, managers and directors * Can solve problems and make decisions. * A skilful negotiator who can resolve issues * Excellent organisational and time management skills * A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges Pay rate: £11.06 Hours: Various shifts (to be discussed at the interview stage). Essential Criteria: * Ability to work shift patterns within the range of hours including weekends and bank holidays * Have a full 5-year checkable history (which will need to be available on request) * Good interpersonal skills / customer service * Clean and tidy appearance and presentation always * Be able to work as part of a team * Willingness and drive to succeed in a highly motivated environment * SIA Door Supervisor Licence or Security Guarding Licence Person Specification * The Full time security officer will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude. * The Full time security officer should be able to work on own initiative. * Flexible Approach to work to suit the business needs. * Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal. * It is important the Security Officer is calm under pressure. * Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act. * SIA Door Supervision or Security Guarding License essential.
