Touro College Administrative Assistant in Los Alamitos, California

The Administrative Assistant has varied responsibilities of staff management, admissions coordination and is an Administrative Assistant to the Director and Associate Director.


The administrative assistant supports the Director and performs various duties as delegated by the Director to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Staff ManagementSupervision of secretarial staff

  • Maintenance of personnel information

Admissions Coordination

  • Serving as secretary of Admissions Committee

  • Coordinating initial student registration/orientation

  • Maintenance of applicant records

  • Statistical compilation/reporting

Administrative Duties

  • Assists Program Director with general correspondence surveys funding applications scheduling appointments self study reports and the budget

  • Maintain records regarding Staff Faculty Academic Progress Curriculum and Advisory Committees

  • Preparation of staff/faculty contracts/payroll

  • Purchase and inventory of all office equipment/supplies

  • Purchase of all instructional and laboratory (medical) supplies

  • Coordination/scheduling of various PA Program Committee meetings

  • Assists Program Director in coordination and data collection for self study purposes

  • Compiling information for Self-study

Education, Preparation, and Training

  • Recommended Associate’s Degree or higher (not required)

  • 2 years experience with administrative work


  • Requires ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with frequent high levels of urgency or sensitivity

  • Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in a team environment

  • Good interpersonal skills are required, both written and oral

Physical Demands

  • Extensive Use of Computers

  • Extensive time sitting and standing

  • Ability to lift 5 lbs.

Computer skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook

The Touro College California PA Program has applied for Accreditation- Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The Touro College California PA Program anticipates matriculating its first class in August 2023, pending achieving Accreditation-Provisional status at the March 2023 ARC-PA meeting. Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation – provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students)
