This position is responsible for the direction and management of investigative resources in support of cyber security, insider trust, digital forensics, and e-discovery for a global Fortune 500 company.

This person will be coordinate sensitive investigations with executives in IT, Legal, HR, and Corporate Security. They will also be expected to provide prescriptive guidance to executives and incident response teams in specific technical areas such as searches, collection, preservation, and analysis of data. This person will also directly support the design, build-out, and implementation of the Insider Trust Program. On occasion, this person will work with investigators from various law enforcement agencies.

The chosen candidate will manage and perform daily tasks associated with computer forensics and electronic discovery and will be responsible for developing team resources and equipment to expand forensic services. In addition to managing and conducting cyber investigations, this position will be expected to handle a variety of privacy and information security matters, to include projects involving the classification, management, and protection of sensitive and regulated information. This role routinely deals with highly confidential and sensitive information. A successful candidate will be expected to both define appropriate handling of such information for the enterprise and implement best handling practices.

The candidate should exhibit strong leadership and management skills. This not only includes the mentoring of less senior analysts and examiners regarding investigative and forensics matters. The position also entails managing strategic vendor relationships, consultants and matrixed teams, workflow processes, and budgets. Critical and timely decision-making skills along with the ability to solve unique and complex problems are of importance. Executive-level communications and interpersonal skills, including experience briefing C-level leaders, influencing others, and engaging with information security and other leaders are necessary as are solid verbal and written ability to communicate policies, standards, and procedures to all levels of the business.

Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects.

Manage and handle insider trust matters, electronic discovery, and cyber investigations across the enterprise, to include electronic records, cyber chain of custody, electronic searches, and computer forensics in collaboration with Legal, HR, Corporate Security, and executive leadership across brands, regions, and functions.

Conduct the Cyber Investigations function with complete accountability. This role is expected to operate independently under the strategic oversight of the Global Head of Cyber Investigations/Forensics and Insider Trust. Accountability will include court appearances, support of law enforcement investigations, and presentations to executives.

Solve complex problems related to insider trust, investigations, and incident management, as well as data loss protection issues. Potential problems may include technology issues, legal requirements, privacy regulations, best practices, and addressing the best interests of ELC.

Manage and execute on key operational decisions with the potential for an impact on high profile litigation, external criminal or intelligence investigations, or internal major events.

Manage a budget covering the computer investigations and digital forensics space. Budget responsibilities include assessing growth (or contraction) needs and making appropriate business cases to justify changes with support from business leadership.

Qualifications

Broad understanding of chain of custody, information management, and legal processes. Specific expertise in cyber security incident response, information security, privacy compliance, regulatory compliance, employment law, and computer forensics. Vendor management experience, especially with firms in cybersecurity areas. Ability to follow industry standard methods of properly identifying, collecting, preserving and analyzing digital evidence with an emphasis on network log, email, shared drive, and host-based forensic examinations. Expertise in incident response related to potential data breaches and suspected breaches of critical IT infrastructure. Experience with litigation support and electronic discovery. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Bachelor’s degree in information security or computer science, or equivalent professional experience with cyber investigations, digital forensics, and forensic analysis

Minimum 5 years experience

Forensic Examiner Certification in EnCase or FTK, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), Cyber Crime Investigator Certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent desirable
