Description:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, the Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering is responsible for direct leadership of the systems engineering team, which includes a blend of systems design engineering, systems test engineering and optical engineering. As a member of our fast-paced, product-development team you will provide systems engineering technical expertise to support the development of military systems Integrated Vision Solutions Sector.
Job responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
Leading the systems design and development processes, creating best practices and supporting engineering design reviews
Collaborating with other department managers to ensure effective product development
Identifying and establishing development processes and standards to enhance the productivity and performance of the systems engineering team
Working closely with the engineering functional managers, engineering project managers and program managers to appropriately execute development projects with systems engineering elements
Supporting the New Product Introduction process
Conducting performance evaluations and participating in the recruitment process for the systems engineering team
Demonstrating ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values
Contributing in a systems engineering design role on projects as required
Required Qualifications
BS or MS CE/CS/EE degree
Minimum of 10 years’ experience
Experience leading, coaching and developing technical talent
Experience communicating technical requirements to multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Desired Qualifications
Functional process and tools development
Strong communication skills, especially communicating complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences
Architecting systems and providing systems engineering guidance for multidisciplinary design teams (software, firmware, electronics) from concept through integration to production-readiness
