ASR Group/Domino Sugar Head of Logistics in London, United Kingdom

POSITION SCOPE
Develop and implement scalable UK Logistics strategy that meets business requirements.
Active supplier management of vendors and internal team to ensure efficiency, service, and quality.
Manage UK Logistics function to meet business objectives, develop people, and delight the customer.
Initiate and lead collaborative relationships with third parties to improve service and efficiency.
Subject matter expert for all customer distribution across the UK operation.
POSITION STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
Understands customer’s requirements in each market, channel and country and works with logistics suppliers to meet these requirements at lowest total costs, reducing waste and delighting both external and internal customers
Drives performance improvement in logistics utilizing continuous improvement techniques with colleagues and external suppliers
Lead and manage the UK logistics functions across each geography from supplier assessment through contract and SLA negotiations
Sets logistics policy to deliver customer service excellence, competitive advantage and controls of budgets
Develops KPIs to drive service improvements, cost reductions, agility and quality improvements in line with ASR’s strategic direction, objectives and customer expectations
Active management of external suppliers and internal supply departments, tailoring of processes to ensure best alignment with business objectives and excellent execution to ensure right first time metrics across existing and new business
Ensure full auditable tender processes across logistics services for the UK including contractual commitments
Develop appropriate logistics organisational structures for the UK; develops personnel for current and future growth requirements

External Distribution Supplier Management
Establishes contracts and SLAs with suppliers and ensures targets are met
Builds effective relationships with suppliers, tracks performance and non- compliance actions
Benchmarks and utilises KPIs to monitors, costs, quality, service and continuous improvement
Understands cost make up at suppliers and works with them to reduce year on year real costs
Ensures cost / service compliance to agreed contracts through supplier reviews
Mastery of partnering and collaboration skills to get best solutions for customers at lowest total costs
Supply Network Management
Full understanding of the costs to serve customers and the alternative networks to service customers
Understands local market compliance with relevant legislation and customs
Evaluates and implements relevant outsourcing versus in house activities for logistics and contract manufacturing processes
Sets logistics policy to deliver customer service and competitive advantage
Communication of the above to all impacted operations across the business
Cost to Serve Optimisation
Provides workable and pragmatic solutions to meet demand at lowest total cost
Seen by external and internal customers as a reliable and trusted partner, develops sustaining and productive customer relationships
Takes actions to meet customer’s needs and concerns, considers how actions or plans will affect customers; responds quickly to meet needs and resolve problems, avoids over commitments
Resolves issues internally to satisfy the customer
To ensure future state improves OTIF targets through the efficient management of logistics contracts & inventory policies
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for ensuring delivery of products to customers on time and in full and to budget
Builds and develops supplier capability to meet demand efficiently and effectively
Takes action to meet customer’s needs and concerns
Reviews supplier performance and KPIs, improves them
Does scenario planning and recommends pragmatic solutions
Mentors and develops the internal logistics team to upskill colleagues and lead a high performing team
Ability to do scenario planning and recommend pragmatic solutions, plus able to articulate the limits of current business systems, processes and implement agreed solutions to improve ways of working
Develops both internal and external relationships to ensure robust collaborative relationships with internal customers in sales and external customers in each market and channel
Facilitates effective implementation and timely acceptance of logistics process innovations and improvements by clearly communicating transition goals to internal and external stakeholders and obtaining agreement
The owner and advocate for best practice logistics throughout the UK

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES
Considerable proven experience in previous UK wide logistics with high proactivity requirements
Understanding of palletised/packed, bulk and export logistics including warehousing, replenishment and transport options
Development with third party contract manufacturing businesses and supporting operations
FMCG / CPG experience in a fast paced production environment
Management / leadership experience in a challenging environment
Development of future state logistics state that delivers savings to Budget
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A business degree or equivalent qualification
