Summary

The Incumbent serves as the Group Practice Manager working with the VISN 5 Business Office to coordinate, evaluate, implement, and monitor priority initiatives within the Network, designed to support VHA and VISN-wide program initiatives and goals; seamless quality care, increased customer satisfaction, identification and improvement in cost efficiencies, access enhancements, systems redesign/efficiencies, and identification/resolution of administrative barriers affecting services to Veterans.

Responsibilities

Position supports VISN Leadership including the Network Director and Senior Management Team, the Chief Business Officer and other key VISN Program Officers, with information regarding clinic practice management initiatives and programs throughout the Network. Other duties include: Planning, developing and monitoring the implementation of VHAs clinical practice management policies and practices in VISN 5 Outpatient and Community Care Clinical Services. Assists facilities to develop and maintain the infrastructure and governance systems required to implement the Group Practice Manager (GPM) business model. Assesses products and services for responsiveness to changes within the health system environment. Ensures effective care delivery and coordination for effective implementation of new business practices Identifies and implements improvements to clinic practice management (CPM) processes Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pmTelework: Available, per agency policy.Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/03/2021.Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Planning, developing and monitoring the implementation of clinical practice management policies and practices; supports the clinical program managers, including Integrated Clinical communities; develops critical reports and updates, for identified issues, and resolves systematically based on findings; prepares data analyses, proposes improvements in processes and systems, and evaluates service line costs for efficiency and improvements. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and is accomplished in an office environment. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday.
