Naval Sea Systems Command ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in Location Negotiable After Selection, United States

Summary

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the STAFFING & CLASSIFICATION BRANCH of the HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISION in the CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of CARDEROCK DIV NS. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.

Responsibilities

You will provide Human Resources specific advisory services in the area of Staffing and Classification, Human Capital Planning, recruitment, position management, and program support to supervisors, managers, and employees.

You will advise management and makes recommendations on procedures; or to align Human Capital Planning decisions with command strategies, objectives and mission

You will provide alternative solutions to complex HR issues that may involve more than one functional area.

You will partner with the assigned customers to assist them in achieving their goals.

You will research and provide expert knowledge of Federal HR laws and regulations and interprets and applies HR specific initiatives in assigned functional areas of Staffing and Classification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-04 (GS-11/12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; providing technical expertise of Human Resources procedures, policies, strategies or objectives in the area of Staffing and Classification, Recruitment, Position Management or Human Capital Planning Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-admin.asp. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $133,465 in MD and $128,924 in PA). This position is eligible for full time telework. Your pay will depend on your geographic location. NEGOTIABLE Management is open to individual teleworking/being in a remote location.
