We are seeking a Technician Senior to perform an assortment of tasks in the Acoustic Vibration Laboratory (AVL), supporting the assembly and testing of a wide variety of subsystem level spacecraft hardware. You will perform mechanical integration of flight hardware to ground test equipment and monitor dynamic testing activities. This includes the creation of unique test solutions and troubleshooting hardware issues. You will be responsible for flight hardware handling, test setup, instrumentation, fixture fabrication, and ground support equipment maintenance and repair.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:

• Perform hands-on test setup, operations, and tear-down for dynamic testing including acoustic, shock, and vibration testing of developmental and flight spacecraft hardware

• Fabricate and assemble unique test solutions including fixture creation/modification and instrumentation configuration

• Maintain and repair laboratory ground processing equipment including shaker systems and acoustic chamber

• Interface with engineering and program customers to ensure successful test execution

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 1 Year of experience.

• Ability to complete assigned tasks in new lines of work and special assignments using documented work instructions with minimal supervision

• Self-starter with a strong work ethic

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and Email)

• Familiarity and experience using tools and heavy mechanical equipment

• Ability to support extended shifts and weekend work as required

Desired Skills:

• Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical test equipment

• Specialized technical training (A&P, etc.) or dynamic test experience

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and work instructions

• Experience with electrical equipment including test instrumentation selection, installation, and data recording

• Knowledge or experience with overhead crane operations, Personal Aerial Lifting Devices (PALDs) and walk-behind forklift operations

• Experience with Assembly, Test and/or Launch Operations (ATLO organization)

• Willingness and ability to obtain a security clearance (TS/SCI or DoD Secret)
