The Role

This is a critical lead architectural role to enable the transformation of Lumen's API landscape and strategy. We are looking for someone who is passionate about API development through integration and orchestration technologies and toolsets. This person will play a critical role in the advancement of API transformation toolsets through integration and orchestration strategies. You will lead your team by example and through contribution, as they develop and ship features. This role requires a love of learning and problem solving, and the ability to guide a team towards implementing architectures and solutions.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers to design, develop and drive the next generation of Integration and Orchestration solutions for Lumen.

  • Drive continuous integration and deployment strategies leveraging tools like Jenkins with a DevSecOps culture.

  • Lead technology integration strategies to enable the retirement of legacy platforms.

  • Lead, influence, and implement integration and orchestration requirements.

  • Work alongside others on the team to provide system architecture solutions and contribute to implementation.

  • Ensure the highest quality software is developed, delivered, and maintained.

  • Be a key leader in the agile process fostering collaboration, sprint and release planning, team accountability and transparency.

  • Facilitate global scrum team ceremonies that operate cross-functionally with product owners and test automation teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of code.

  • Advocate, adopt, and coach the team on SAFe Agile and DevSecOps practices.

  • Embrace and model a culture that promotes self-organization and a culture of safety.

  • Lead the team to deliver services and features that support Lumen’s Enterprise API integration and orchestration platform.

  • Collaborate with the product owner and their team to prioritize delivery and clarify requirements to ensure deliver of high-quality solutions.

  • Advocate, adopt and coach their team on lean, agile, and DevSecOps engineering practices.

  • Support their teammates through HR processes such as career growth, performance reviews, and blocker removal.

  • Work alongside others on the team to provide architectural and system design guidance.

  • Design and help their team design solutions that include API integration and orchestration, cloud computing, global infrastructure, distributed systems, microservices orientated patterns, security, and automation.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • 4+ years of experience producing deliverables such as technology designs, code overviews, reusable components, unit testing, and frameworks.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in solution engineering and development for APIs

  • 3+ years of experience implementing API integration and orchestrations via tools like Talend, Mulesoft, and Itential.

  • 1+ years previous manager level leadership experience preferred

  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing API management platforms including API security and Enterprise messaging patterns.

  • Experience designing, integrating, and implementing complex infrastructure and application solutions.

  • Ability to communicate both business and technology concepts effectively across all organization levels (both IT and business)

  • Working experience with API enablement systems, including various data formats & protocols

  • Experience with Security frameworks (e.g., JWT, OAUTH2)

  • Hands on experience in Microservices development and containerized workloads.

  • Continuously learns new technologies, Agile, and leadership skills certifications.
