Merck Analytical R&D Strategic Operations Lead in Little Rock, Arkansas

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate in Analytical Research and Development (AR&D) to partner with the leadership team and the broader organization in executing critical business functions and support the strategy and operation of the organization. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required and a demonstrated ability to collaborate across departmental boundaries is essential.

This role will report to the Vice President , Analytical Research and Development (AR&D) and key components of the position include (but are not limited to) coordination and organization of departmental staff meetings and key departmental reviews; progression, compilation and realization of the Analytical Research and Development (AR&D) priorities; sponsorship and leadership of select priorities and committees (e.g. compliance, training curricula); execution of the Analytical Research and Development (AR&D) communication strategy (e.g newsletter, digital tools); influencing alignment and interdependence of the Analytical Research and Development (AR&D) leadership team and extended leadership team.

This position will have a significant component representing the Analytical Research and Development (AR&D) function on key strategic initiatives and oversight committees, and a variety of opportunities for cross departmental collaboration (e.g. Finance, Quality, Procurement…).

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams, initiative to seek solutions to critical business processes and a strong financial and business acumen. Additionally, the candidate will have demonstrated strengths in building the best teams and engage strongly in driving an inclusive culture for the organization.

Education Requirement:

  • BS degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related disciplines with at least 10 years of experience in industry or academia OR

  • MS degree in chemistry biology, biochemistry or related disciplines with at least 6 years of experience OR

  • PhD degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related disciplines and 2 years of experience in industry or academia

Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams

  • Experience in driving critical business processes

  • Demonstrated ability in building the best teams

  • Strong financial and business acumen

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Demonstrated experience in analytical platforms and technologies would be an added benefit but not required

Location: West Point, PA, or Rahway or Kenilworth NJ
