IBM Junior System Engineer - IBM CIC in LILLE, France
As a Junior System Engineer, you are part of a responsible team, able to intervene when there is a malfunction related to a product or service. You will receive incidents reported by users. You will need to be able to diagnose and resolve them in order to guarantee quality service, on time.
You actively participate in the resolution of incidents and are responsible for the proper functioning of the system. You and the IBM team participate in a configuration consulting assignment. You monitor technology and facilitate the integration of new tool. You develop and participate in the business resumption plan for the customer.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Install, manage, administer and ensure the support of infrastructures, components and middleware flows, ensuring consistency, quality and security (WebSphere Application Server, Apache, Tomcat, IBM Http Server, Tomcat, FileNet P8, Jboss et WebLogic).
Deploy and automate middleware configurations by leveraging existing tools.
Provide support to project teams in the context of development or new service requests
Propose continuous improvement actions aimed at strengthening the robustness and reliability of our customers' information systems and developing the automation of operations.
Ensure compliance with operating and safety standards during the implementation of solutions on applications ( as TWS, Control M, JDE, Hadoop or Cloudera)
Good communication, adaptation and teamwork skills
Your work is based on your engagement and your ability to guarantee delay with IBM’s teams and Customers
Punctual travels may be requested in France.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
(already acquired or to be acquired through continuing education) :
• Experience in the distributed middleware field. Experience with one or more clients is a plus.
• Be autonomous in incident management, and migration, maintenance and version upgrades.
• Experience in debugging problems (ITIL approach), interacting with labs and engineers from other platforms.
• Experience in operating computer production systems is a plus.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
A good approach of middleware through products ( WebSphere Application Server, Apache, Tomcat, IBM http Server, FileNet P8, JBOSS, WebLogic)
A knowledge of messaging ( WebSphere MQ, Message Broker)
Good Notions of Database environment (DB2, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, PostGre)
You will operate in several infrastructure like AIX, RedHat Linux, VmWare or Citrix
