Reporting to the Platforms Director, this position requires a keen understanding of digital content in all its forms and an eye for what's next in the digital media landscape. About 70% of your time will be spent ideating, producing and editing TikTok video content alongside our main TikTok producer, using trends and data signals to inform our strategy on the platform. About 30% of your time will be spent contributing to PEOPLE's Twitter Spaces, Snapchat Discover, Community and more emerging platforms focused on video and non-video content. You should be passionate about pop culture, have a familiarity of the celebrity space, and be a frequent consumer of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other short-form, mobile-first video content, as well as live audio content such as Twitter Spaces, Clubhouse and Greenroom. Successful candidates should be able to pitch creative ideas in a collaborative environment and see them through from concept to execution. It is important for this person to be social media-savvy and understand how and why people view and share content online. The position will involve working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. There will be opportunities as an on-camera personality and interviewer, but your main task will be bringing the whole team's concepts to life. Our team handles all emerging platforms at PEOPLE - we identify what's new and what's next, with a focus on reaching a Gen. Z audience. You should have a keen understanding of the evolving digital media landscape and a knack for identifying upcoming platforms that PEOPLE should explore.

Essential Job Functions
Produce and edit dynamic TikTok videos, from concept to delivery
Meaningfully participate in creative brainstorms for new content
Assist the Platforms Director and Editor in development and strategy for new projects and/or establishing PEOPLE on new platforms
Develop and coordinate creative written, audio and video content for PEOPLE's other platforms (Snapchat, Community, Twitter Spaces, Pinterest)
Be a team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for entertainment, pop culture and using trends to suggest innovative opportunities for PEOPLE on multiple platforms

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
BA or BS in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Film/TV or a related field is preferred.

1-3 years of experience, with at least 1 year in a digital media role.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, and the PEOPLE brand
An idea generator who can think of new, fresh social and video ideas
Must have video editing experience and basic camera skills
Must have knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, social media, SEO and video scripting
Must have strong writing skills and knowledge of AP Style
Experience creating and uploading TikTok videos is preferred
Must have a love for digital video/audio and an eye on trends in the industry
Must be able to communicate effectively - verbally, in writing, and in person
Ability to work well with team members in a creative, collaborative, fast-paced environment
Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignment simultaneously
Must be highly organized with excellent follow-through
Attention to detail and being a self-starter are musts
