Welders' primary responsibility is MIG welding of steel parts.i Each job must be run with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding areaDuties and Responsibilities:MIG welding including the following:Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols)Inspect welds for accuracy and qualityPrepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steelChange welding wire as neededChange has tanks as neededResponsible for the proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the proper locationEnsure all equipment is properly set-up and used in safe manner and that all safety devices are in usePerform first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as requiredMonitor equipment and request maintenance when requiredPerform simple maintenance and repair as requiredOther Duties and Responsibilities: Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of manufacturing plantRequired to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance systemOther job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this positionPerformance Expectations:Safety, Quality, Accuracy, Timeliness, Reliability and Thoroughness of work performedGains the trust and respect of the shift supervisor, co-workers, and other employeesDevelops working knowledge of the production environment and has ability to respond to changeWork to Continuously Improve the operations of the Department through Lean activities and Improvement suggestionsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Prefer at least 6 months of experience working with MIG weldingPosition requires good mathematical ability and the ability to read and interpret blueprintsPositionirequires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measureWorking Conditions:Work in a production environment with the risk of injurySafety equipment must be worn when working with equipment in the shopBending, lifting to 25 pounds, and pushing up to 70 pounds is required
