Title: Electronics Technician I

Job Location : Lemont Furnace, PA (Uniontown area)

Position Summary: Provide routine technical support to engineers and managers on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework. Some test and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies

  • Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches and running sheets of significant complexity

  • Provide routine technical support to engineers and managers on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and equipment

  • Responsibilities may include testing, modifying, reworking, repairing, and building electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies

  • Work from standard wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches

  • Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units

  • Capable of performing related manufacturing processes

  • Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and

  • Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification

  • Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials

  • Perform Key Performance Indicators:

  • Meet production deadlines

  • Quality of finished product (Pass/fail rates)

  • Raw material stock levels

  • Compliance outcomes

  • Position requires the ability to coordinate several activities at the same time, and to reprioritize in response to changing operational conditions

  • Ability to read, and possibly develop, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion, and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Associates degree in technical field preferred

  • Experience with Electro-Mechanical Assembly or Operation preferred

  • Must demonstrate strong decision-making and leadership skills

  • Experience handling small delicate components, using ESD practices preferred

  • Soldering and wire bonding experience preferred

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Technical knowledge of engineering documents including engineering drawings, parts lists, and bills of material preferred

  • Must have good hand and eye coordination

  • Experience using various computer applications, including Access, Excel, and Labview preferred

  • Experience with MRP preferred

  • Must have good mechanical skills

Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Active DoD Government Security Clearance (preferred)

  • Prior DoD Electronics assembly experience (preferred)

  • IPC 610 Certification

  • IPC 620 Certification

  • IPC J-STD-001 Soldering Certification

  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude

  • Good interpersonal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 40 lbs. repetitively

  • Walking, Bending, Standing, Kneeling, Stooping: up to 75% of time

  • Climbing, Sitting: up to 25% of the time

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

AAC works on a 9/80 compressed work schedule, which consists of employees working 80 hours during a two-week period spread over nine days, instead of the usual 10. Employees work nine hours on seven of the days in the period, one eight-hour day, and are off every other Friday.
