Applied Physics Laboratory Project Planner / Master Scheduler in Laurel, Maryland

We are seeking a Master Planner/Scheduler to support Civil Space and National Security Space projects in an EVMS controlled environment. The successful candidate will provide project planning/scheduling support and assist in Earned Value Management (EVM) Implementation and aid in Proposal development. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to join an experienced planning and scheduling team while supporting critical contributions to critical challenges!
As a Planner/Scheduler at JHU APL, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Planning/Scheduling Management & Support - You will plan, develop, status and manage project Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) throughout various stages of the project life-cycle. Position will work closely with Financial Managers (FMs), Control Account Managers (CAMs) and Project Managers (PMs) to support IMPR Format 6 delivery, critical path analysis, schedule margin analysis and ad hoc reporting.
2. Earned Value Implementation – You will support development and implementation of an EVMS that is compliant with the EIA 748C standards. Track schedule performance that will flow into the EVMS. Support analysis of BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, BAC and EAC. Interact with Project Managers, Control Account Managers, Financial Managers, Contracts and Subcontracts to ensure project contractual, cost and schedule requirements are met.
- 3. Proposal Planning/Scheduling Support - You will provide proposal support and assist in ad hoc management inquiries from Section, Group and/or Sector management.
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you possess:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a project planner/scheduler.
Proficiency in project management scheduling tools.
Highly motivated self-starter, capable of independent operations.
Advanced MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency.
Demonstrated oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment.
- Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you possess:
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification.
Advanced degree in a related field.
Demonstrated experience in conducting Schedule Health Checks and Schedule Risk Analyses.
Experience using MS Project Server.
Experience managing an IMS in an Earned Value controlled environment.
Working knowledge of EVMS (Earned Value Management System) to manage a project.
Special Working Conditions: Occasional overtime required.
