Primary Responsibilities:

  • Senior-level Windows System Engineer with a background administering enterprise-level Windows domains and servers

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of a Windows Domain and Servers, including Forest, Trees, trusts, AD FSMO roles, etc

  • Senior-level experience with VMware tools including vSphere, Site Recovery Manager, vRealize Operations Manager, and vRealize Automation

  • Deploy servers in lab environment and test new systems for reliability before pushing to production

  • Must be able to assess the infrastructure in place and create System Configuration drawings in Visio, including back-up topology drawings and server redundancy drawings

  • Create and document procedures as needed

  • Perform back-ups, software installations, and monitoring of system health

  • Troubleshoot Windows servers

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalating more advanced issues to the senior engineers and vendor

  • Configure operating systems and applications

Positions in this function design, engineer, and manage the organization's infrastructure and operational platforms. From a cloud services model, this includes services commonly thought of as IaaS and PaaS and their underlying foundational components.

Additionally, this function also has responsibility for traditional enterprise infrastructure and operational platforms such as email, file transfer, and collaboration technologies, among others.

This role must understand functional and non-functional requirements to ensure they can be achieved through system design and engineering to meet the needs of the customers. Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to develop roadmaps for their respective technology portfolios, resolve cross-system and domain dependencies, ensure effective integration among the services offered to the end customer, and efficient usage of infrastructure and operational platforms. Monitor technological advancements and industry trends to influence company standards and ensure that solutions are continuously improved and maintained through product management practices, including recommendations to invest in a solution or retirement of redundant or out-of-date systems.

Understand the interactions between systems, the applications and services hosted, and evaluate the impact of changes and additions. Perform analysis on existing systems to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, meet security requirements, and interoperable and maintainable technology portfolio.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent of 5+ years of direct work experience

  • 5 or more years of experience with Windows Server management

  • 5 years of experience with Active Directory in a large enterprise

  • 5 years or more of experience supporting VMware environments (ESXi, vRops, vCenter, SRM, vRA)

  • 5 years or more of experience administering Windows domains using Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Performance Monitoring Systems, Windows Deployment, Automation and Scripting

  • Experience with Enterprise Backup Tools (Veeam Backup and Replication preferred)

  • 3+ years of experience with enterprise SAN storage (HPE Nimble Storage preferred)

  • Ability to work in an on-call rotation to resolve high priority incidents after regular business hours

  • On-call rotation work is compensated above normal salary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field

  • Experience Administering Microsoft Exchange Server

  • Health care insurance experience
