Description

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students with the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters while actively attending classes at LCC. Student employees in theHealth & Human Services (HHS) Division Officewill provide general office assistance including: answering the phones, prepare mailings, meeting preparation, updating documents/spreadsheets/databases, proofreading, greeting and assisting visitors and division employees, and providing additional office support, as needed.

Essential Duties

Provide general office assistance, including answering the phones, prepare mailings, meeting preparation, updating documents/spreadsheets/databases, proofreading, greeting and assisting visitors and division employees, and providing additional office support, as needed. Provide assistance to the Coordinator of Recruitment and Outreach.

• Working knowledge of spreadsheet and database software

Qualifications

• Must be detail oriented and willing to learn, take direction, and follow through on projects (required)

• 3.0 GPA (preferred)

• Office experience (preferred)

• Excellent computer/keyboarding skills and customer service skills, working knowledge of MS Office Suite (preferred)

• Not enrolled in any of the Health & Human Services Division courses/programs (preferred)

Requirements for LCC Student Employment

The following requirements apply each semester in order to maintain eligibility and continue working as a student employee:

  • Enrolled and actively attending the following minimum LCC credit hours by semester:

  • Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits

  • Summer Semester = 3.0 credits

  • International students with an F-1 visa and valid I-20 issued by LCC must meet the following minimum enrollment/credit requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS) regulations:

  • Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits

  • Summer Semester = 3.0 credits

  • Minimum 2.0 GPA or have approval to waive requirement unless it is the student’s first semester of enrollment at LCC

Hours per Week: Up to 25 Hours

Hourly Wage: $9.65
